Duke of Zhou and His System of Rites

周公制礼，创立了中国历史上影响深远的政治文化。诸如分封亲贵，兴灭继绝，体国经野，威慑不顺，卜都定鼎，明堂朝觐，敬天保民和嫡长子继承，这些周公之法多数用为后来吉、嘉、宾、军。

Duke of Zhou, by means of establishing his system of rites, actually started an influential political culture in Chinese history. His achievements included the establishment of the system of enfeoffment and the state in the capital, the formulation of obeisances to the sovereign and worship of god, and the quarantee of the right of primogeniture and protection of the people. On the whole, Duke of Zhou′s system of rites was to become the framework and principle of the Five Rites in China′s political tradition.
