AbstractThe present paper discusses the reasons, significance and possibilities of including the study of translation into the study of science of communication, attempting to enlarge the scope of translation studies. This new perspective breaks through some of the conventionalities of the traditional study, opening a new road towards the establishment of Translatology as an independent discipline.
