Translation teaching is a progress that translation theory could be spread widely and studied deeply, that the academic base and the troops of translation could be set up and consolidated, that the new force of translation could be sent continuously to the translation cause. This thesis deals with the present situation of translation teaching in China from the following aspects: brief history of translation teaching, importance of translation teaching, teaching material, teaching method, research of translation teaching and teachers training. The conclusion is: translation teaching is a systematic engineering which depends on the guidance of translation theory. And translators training depends on the research and the development of translation teaching theory which is one of the important part of translation studies. Therefore, teachers of translation must pay special attention to translation studies as well as discussions of translation teaching theories.
