Pit was excavated in May to July of 1995. The funerary objects inclube lacquered. A large Western Han tomb with its wooden coffin-chambers embedded in an earth wooden figurines painted with jing-mo or networks of passages of bodily energy, lacquered chariots and horses, lacquered horsemen, primitive celadons, etc. , one thousand or so in total.
The tomb consists of a passage, a front chamber and a rear chamber. A huge coffinchamber was built in the front and rear chambers respectively. The front chamber,11m in length and 9. 72m in width, consists of five compartments connected with each other by doors, each containing utensils and lacquered models of chariots and horses . The rear chamber, 5. 54 by 4. 92m, is placed with a lacquered coffin, and is separated from the front chamber by three doors. Judging by the coffin and coffin-chambers and other furniture, the tomb was built prior to the fifth year of Emperor Wudi's Yuanshou reign of the Western Han dynasty.
Special mention should be made of the figurine painted with jing-mo network. The 28-cm figurine covered in black lacqer is painted with metworks of red lines, which remind one of the old medical manuals such as 足臂十一灸经and 阴阳十一灸经. It is truly important tangible material for the research of China' s medical history. The primitive celadon ware, discovered for the first time in Sichuan , are impressive for their fine texture, the fast-held glaze and clear sound it gives when knocked.
