Abstract Reviewing the studies of translation science of near 20 years in China the author suggests that as a major discipline translation science containing 3 parts:translatology,translation art and translation engineering,its management and planning be centralized to carry out more bilingual education from primary and secondary schools and more studies on methodology of the discipline.
