Abstract Campus life is Laing Xihua's favorite subject matter, which is rendered in a rich and varied way. He can present minute deseriptions of love, just like those in the ancient Chinese love stories about handsome scholars and pretty boies. Nicknames and vivid images are often used in his narrative works. His essays are philosophical,full of unconventional thoughts and humor. Emotions, interesting anecdotes and philosophical ideas are all conveyed aptly. Liang Xihua is a representative of scholar-writers of Hong Kong.
