The Mode of Economic Growth and Inflation

改革以来，我国通货膨胀反复发生并有所加剧的深层次原因之一，在于建国以来形成的追求数量和速度的粗放型经济增长方式。经济增长方式难以完成由粗放型向集约型转变的事实表明，不能把发展才是硬道理理解成为速度才是硬道理。追求增长速度和扩张规模的增长方式必然引发通货膨胀和经济剧烈波动，国民经济发展战略只有真正建立在追求增长效益和发展质量的基础之上，才能保持持续、快速、健康的发展。

One of the understated causes for the repetitive occurrence of inflation and gradual worsening of the situation can be attributed to the mode of crude economic development of quantity and speed as the objective which was set after the founding of the People's Republic of China. The simple fact that growth mode of extensive and crude economy can hardly be transformed into that of intensive economy proves the truth: Speed is not equal to real growth. The growth mode of seeking speed and scale's expansion can only lead to inflation and economic disturbance. Our national economy can only develop faster and healthier with the strategy decided on the basis of pursuing beneficial growth results and improving quality.
