On The Fall of Science for The Sake of Literature Flourish during Tang Dynasty

唐代科学虽有发展，但与前后朝代对比，相对是个低谷。其原因，与科举制的发展有关，在门阀制度终结以后，大量士子都在政府政策的导向下，潜心文词以图功名，冷落了科学，这是后来中国科技落后的一个深刻根源。

The Development of Science in Tang dynasty was very slow, even slower than before.The chief cause lay in the rise of imperial examination system after the fall of the aristocrat.When most scholars were lead enthusiastically to literature to become government officials,science was left out in the cold and fell far behind. This is a grave lesson the history evertaught us.
