摘要
南燕公元３９８年从后燕分离出来，４１０年被东晋所灭，只有１３年的历史。慕容超４０５年继位为南燕皇帝，初期所制订的一系列对内政策，如清除前帝慕容德派系人物等措施，对南燕的发展走向起了决定性的作用。南燕陷入内战的漩涡，与他不无直接的关系。为了转移国内视线，他又挑起了对东晋的战争，加速了南燕的灭亡。
The regime of south Yan (398 -- 410) only lasted for 13 years. Mu Rongchao came topower in 405, and his government policy together with his political measures taken toeliminate the former emperor Mu Rongde's sect soon put his newly established state into civilwar. He then ventured to wage a war against East Jin to get out of his domestic trouble,which only ruined him and his kindom before long.
