河南新乡五陵村战国两汉墓

WARRING STATES AND HAN TOMBS AT WANGLINGCUN VILLAGE, XINXIANG, HENAN

1965年新乡火电厂在市东北郊五陵村西建厂,我们配合工程施工,发掘五十余座墓葬。1985年,又配合发掘一三七座,这批墓葬,分布在火电厂所属的电建工地(M1—M8)、凉水塔工地(M9—M108)、仓库工地(M109—M131)、烟囱工地(M132—M137)范围内(图一),皆为战国两汉墓,下面报导的是这一三七座墓的全部资料。参加发掘工作的有胡秉钧、贾拥军、张士国、赵争鸣、周玉生、王保平、王保银、汤保良、赵军、郭炳山、刘芬远、苏德荣。

In 1985, 137 ancient tombs were excavated at Wanglingcun Village northeast of Xinxiang City, Henan Prov. Of them there are 7 shaft pits, 106 catacombs and 24 brick tombs. Of the shaft pits 5 have second-tier platforms and 2 have narrow tomb passages. The catacombs include four types, for 3 of which the width of the tomb passage is larger thari, equal to and less than that of the chamber respectively and for the forth the passage is sloping and there are 3 chambers in each tomb. The brick tombs have one, two or even more chambers in each case. The grave goods mainly consist of pottery vessels and bronze and iron objects are few in number. The pottery vessels total 926, of which almost all belong to grey clay ware except 8 green-glazed pieces. The bronzes number 43, including 7 mirrows. The iron objects are 14 in all. In addition, there were unearthed 10 bone artifacts and 611 coins. Judging from the forms of the tombs and the evolution and combination of the funeral objects, these tombs can be divided into six chronological groups, which date respectively from the middle and late Warring State, the period from the end of the Warring States through the beginning of the Western Han, the early Western Han, the middle Western Han, the late Western Han, and the time from the end of the Western Han through the Eastern Han. The tomb owners are principally common people and middle and petty landlords. The Warring States and Han tombs in the area of Xinxiang have both common features of the Warring States and Han tombs in the Central Plans and regional characters formed due to their builders living in a specific territory and in somewhat special cultural and customary circumstances. The excavation provides rich material for studying the development and changes of this tomb complex and especially for researching into its evolutionary sequence according to the distinctive features of its all phases.
