My Views for Developing A National-Style Tourism in Guilin

桂林,祖国的明珠,南疆的翡翠,在这块绚丽奇特的土地上,“江作青罗带,山如碧玉簪”,那清澈萦回、令人魂牵梦绕的漓江,那拔地峭竖、林立四野的群峰,那深邃幽旷、多姿多彩的溶洞,还有那浸润着历史风雨、记载着文明结晶的人文景观……这些。

Guilin is a famous tourist attaction. But at present there exist the problems of short- stay tourists, few repeat tourists and low economic impact. The author, with a view to arousing in tourists a c?iosity about the many minorities inhabiting this area, raises the idea of establishing 'the Minority Nationalities-Style Complex', that is, grouped villages that display, perform and prepare the architectural arts, dancing and music, arts and crafts and special local cuisine of the various nationalities as well as local customs. 'The Minority Nationalities-Style Complex', would be composed of four villages of Zhuang,Yao, Miao and Tong Nationalities. Each village would have its own folklore exhibition hall, singing and dancing performance hall, national-style restau- rant, local speciality and product exhibition hall and national arts and crafts workshops so that catering, amusement and shopping would be interestingly combined. This kind of complex would be characterized by'indigineity', 'beauty', 'origina- lity', 'novelty' and 'amusement', geared to the foreign tourists' desire to experi ence culture, amusement and commerce.
