二三十年来,新加坡的经济有了巨大的发展。它在发展过程中有下述几个特点:经济发展速度位于世界最前列;经济迅速增加,物价却基本稳定;外贸是新加坡的生命线,对外收支大量盈余;利用跨国公司的直接投资,主要投于制造业;政府积极干预经济。

The past two decades or more have witnessed tremendous economic growthin Singapore.The course of development has several features:Its economicgrowth rates top the world;rapid economic growth is parallelled with basicallystable prices;foreign trade is the country's lifetime with a large amount ofsurplus in international balance of payments;direct investment from multinatio-nal corporations is concentrated in manufacturing industries;and the governmentis actively involved in economic activities.
