W·奎因认为他的本体论许诺的判据是中性的,即根据这一判据我们能够揭示任何概念系统所蕴涵的本体论的假设。作者认为奎因的这一判据是非中性的。实际上,奎因的本体论许诺的判据是基于对象化的说话方式的,而这正是一阶语言的语义解释所蕴涵的本体论假设。

W.Quine claimed that his criterion of the ontological commitment of a discourseis neutral in the sense that by which the ontological presupposition of any discoursecan be revealed.In my view,Quine's criterion is not neutral,because it is basedon the objectifying pattern of speaking,which is in turn derived from the ontologicalpresupposition of the semantic interpretation of the first-order language.
