Differences Between the Western and Eastern Sport Models:with a View of Future Development

东西方体育模式,自古代始,由于各自发展过程中,受历史性、民族性、地域性等方面的影响,在接受社会历史上诸方面影响时各自所摄取的“主要支配点”不同,便形成了明显的“类”的个性,即差异性,从而成为两大体育体系。它们各见其优、各有所长。东西方体育模式在世界近现体育的形成和发展中,都起到了积极的作用;二者的交流与融和,已喜见成效;世界未来体育的全面大发展,必将依赖于东西方体育模式的大融和。

The different Western and Eastern sport models, as restricted by their respective histories, nationalities, and geographicregions, etc. in their development since ancient times and as affected by various kinds of social factors when absorbing theirown principle 'standpoints' during their formation, have brought with them rather different individual features, that is, thedifferences of 'type'. Thus there have come into being two major sport systems, both possessing their own strong points andadvantages, and having played active functions in the development of world modern and contemporary sport. The exchangeand mixture of the two models have brought about satisfactory results, and it is sure that the all-round development ofworld sport in future will rely on a grand mixture of the two sport models.
