Based on convincing examples quoted from authoritative English newspapers andmagazines,the author points out that the simple present and the present continuous,when used as future expressions,are not always interchangeable.He goes on to discussthe difference between these two future expressions in four aspects,namely,willing-ness,accidentality,certainty and plannability.Usages in headlines and in some sentencepatterns are alao discussed.
