Social Ideas and Ethics of Early Buddhism

释迦牟尼传道,面向广大群众。在他的弟子中,有出家的僧尼;也有世俗的善男信女。就世俗信徒的阶级地位来说,上至王公、大臣,下至贱民和奴隶,各个阶层都有。因此,他所宣教的内容,不仅有宗教方面的教理和戒律;也有世俗方面的社会、伦理学说。在这里试就后者的几个主要方面作一点探讨。

This article includes five perts. One is the people's Contractism of early Buddhism.It's the origin theory of Royalty raised to object to the Brahmanas 'Superiority andimprove the Royalty. The Second is the all Being's equality. It's the challege of ear-ly Buddhism to Caste-system and heavy lash to it. The third is the Opinion of politicalway. It mainly discusaes the Republican Opinion and Wise king's political idea of ea-rly Buddhism. The fourth is the great harmony illusion of early Buddhism. It's onlya wonderful dream. The fifth is the Six direction ethics. This is ethics of eatly Bu-ddhism and it shows fully its middle way consciousness.
