三门峡市水工厂唐墓的发掘

Excavation of a Tang Tomb at the Sanmenxia Municipal Waterworks

三门峡水工厂位于市区西部,建设路西段北侧。1989年11月,三门峡市文物工作队在配合水工厂建设西宿舍楼的考古发掘中,在宿舍楼基础的西南角发现一座唐墓,遂编号为M5(图一)。该墓出土的唐代文物中,以白瓷碾和瓷兔为珍贵。现将5号墓的情况简报如下:

In the cooperation with the constructing work in the Water Plant, the Archaeological Team of Sanmenxia City unearthed a knife-shaped cavechamber tomb of Tang Dynasty in November of 1989. The coffin wood of the tomb had been rotten, but the skeleton of the dead ahd the butial articles were preserved very well. The head. The head of the skeleton is toward north and the foot south, most of the burial articles are near the head and the foot, among them there are copper-made mirror and hairpin, rabbit and rooler of white porcelain and some 'Kaiyuan Tongbao' coins. Because the white rabbit and the roller are important compositions of an ancient legend which talk that the white rabbit prepare medicine with roller, the author think that the host of the tomb may be a doctor while living.
