摘要
1989年秋,笔者在洞庭湖西岸澧水支流道河沿岸发现两处旧石器地点,采集到一批石制品,现将发现地点及石制品报导如下,供研究者参考。一、地貌概况这两处旧石器地点分别发现于澧县南部的道河乡张家滩和仙公两地,其地貌概况如次:
The palaeolithic sites of Zhang-jia-tan and Xian-gong are located on the
second terrace of the south bank of the Li River,Li County,northern Hunan
Province.All stone artifacts are found in the netted reddish clay of Quaternary.
The major materials of these artifacts are greatly washed pebbles,most of them
are red sand-rock.The artifacts include flakes.,cores,and stone tools,which are
mainly retouched by direct method of a hammer stone.The stone tools include
scapers,choppers,points and stone spheroids.Both of the cultural characteristics
of South China and North China can be found in these artifacts,but the
major features should belong to the pebble-tool system of South China.The
epoch of these artifacts can be deduced as in the middle palaeolithic according
to the Quaternary geological and geomorphological evidences.
