This article has made an analysis of the following problems which must be solved in running well the high-level sports teams in colleges and universities : 1) making clear the orientation and guiding ideology of running the high-level sports teams in the institutions of higher learning; 2) reforming education and perfecting the system of management; 3) the source of athletes; 4) doing a good job of enhancing the quality of coaches; 5) the necessity of a long-range objective, a long -teim plan and effective measures.
