作为新的顶尖科技产物,磁共振成像已无数次证明了大脑活动与行为之间存在紧密关系,然而,其作为神经科学仪器之用于研究教育,"香港脑神经科学与教育计划"却是先驱。为使磁共振成像获得准确数据,受试者需要长时间保持安定,故此类以磁共振仪为主的实验在难以长期保持静止的学生中施行尤为艰难。作者希望分享其在该研究计划所获得的宝贵经验。文章介绍了功能性磁共振仪器测量大脑功能的机制,并描述了在学生中开展功能性磁共振成像研究的适宜技术。
Being a new and advanced scientific apparatus, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has confirmed the close relationship between brain activation and behaviour. However, it was introduced in a pioneering project (The utilization of neuro-cognitive science for the improvement of language education in Hong Kong) to gather neuroscientific data for teaching and learning. To collect accurate data, functional MRI (fMRI) requires the participants to lie motionless during the scanning process. Hence, children are particularly difficult to be involved in fMRI studies given their fidget. The author hopes to share her experience in conducting children-targeted fMRI study with fellow researchers. This paper introduces briefly the mechanism of fMRI and discusses the proper techniques on conducting fMRI study on children.
