摘要 We consider that propofol is safe for ERCP in the majority of cases. Most studies including ours indicate that propofol proves to be an effective and safe sedative for ERCP. In spite of its beneficial effects, it’s important to point out the complications of propofol. Hypotension and respiratory depression are the most common adverse reactions associated with propofol. And it’s has been reported about other side effects of propofol, such as pancreatitis and hepatitis. That’s also the viewpoint of Polo-Romero FJ in his letter to the editor of this journal. He and his colleagues have treated a patient with acute hepatitis due to propofol following an ERCP.
