摘要 Lexical synonymy may be roughly defined as follows: Two Lexical itemsare synonymous in a sentence if and only if(a)they are interchangeable (i.e.are both acceptable) in that sentence and (b) the descriptive meaning ofthe sentence remains the same under the substitution of one lexical item forthe other and vice versa.
