1.1 语言是一个整体.语言内部的各个部分之间存在着有机的联系.研究语言不仅要静态地、孤立地观察。
In English, a noun can be modified by various nominal modifications, such as adjectives, prepositional phrases, and relative clauses. Nominal modifications can be divided into two sub-groups: premodification and postmodification. As a type of nominal modification, relative clauses may share certain similarities with other nominal modifications; in other words, some relationships may exist between relative clauses and other nominal modificatons. In this paper, I will discuss the possible relationships existing between them by way of the generative-transformational approach.
