摘要
清代乾嘉之际,福建贡生陈起元曾制造过一种漏壶(以下称陈壶),关于这种漏壶的机构不见于记载,但其性能在《福建通志》上却说得很清楚。就其性能看,这是一种颇值得研究的民间计时仪器。笔者对有关史料进行了分析研究之后,1981年对这种漏壶进行了复原设计,复原件(图1)于1982年送加拿大参加"中国古代科技成就展览"。
A floating siphon clepsydra with rotating dial indications was made by Chen Qiyuan by
the end of the 18th century. Its automatic intermittent drainage of two tanks working in turns
enables the hammer to strike the bell at 6h and 18 h. It has been restored by the author and its
construction is described in this paper.
