摘要
三国魏人刘徽是我国著名数学家,他注释的《九章算术》,颇富创见,蜚声中外。近年笔者受出版社委托:全文英译、释《九章算术》及刘(徽)李(淳风)注。译事贵在信、达、雅,信尤其重要。在认真反复习读、琢磨原著过程中,有新悟数则,特笔记就正同道。 1.师古而不泥于古《九章算术·刘徽注》序文说,测太阳高、远。
This paper gives new cognitions about Liu Hui's Annotations on the Nine Chapters
on the Mathematical Art. Liu Hui was skilled in proving the formulas on area of plane
or surface figures and volume of solids by method of indivisibles over a millennium
before B. Cavalieri (1598-1647). He solved problem by method of inversion 250 years
earlier than the Indian mathematician Aryabhata. He gave a proof on Euclidean algo-
rithm. In addition, he was good at summarizing and extending of achievements of his
predecessors and did much on theory of proportion and surveying calculation.
This paper gives new explanations to glossaries sentences and items of abstruse
writings in Liu's annotations as well as different ideas on views given by colleagues at
home or abroad.
