This paper describes outstanding achievements in the development of medicine in the twentieth century, in ten sections including applications of chemical drugs and antibiotics to treatment, immunology, nutriology, endocrinology, surgery, biomedicine engineering, molecular medicine, diagnose technique, psychiatry medicine and theoretical concepts of medicine. To counter the levels of objects of study, subject system, technical methods, the relation between medicine and society and international cooperation, it analyses features of development of contemporary medicine and points out the main problems which it is faced with.
