Association for the Journal of Dialectics of Nature, Academia Siniea, the Institute of Philosophy, the Chinese Academy of Social Sociences and Society for Dialectics of Nature of China jointly sponsored the Third National Symposium on the Philosophy of Science from September 4 to 9, 1983, in Beijing The central topic under discussion included the object, content and method of the philosophy of science, as well as the history, present status and tendency of this discipline. Detailed discussions were held by the participants on the logic of scientific discoveries, and briefings given about the note worthy schools and philosophers of recent and modern philosophy of science.In the end, research plans were thrashed out.
