The next heading I’ll deal with is repetitiveness and wordiness.Some wordiness isunavoidable,but it’s often unnecessary in translation into English,because the two lan-guages are different.For instance,one difference we’ve already commented on.Chineseis much more sparing in the use of pronouns than English.And one of the easiest waysto avoid repetitiveness or wordiness like‘in this world’,or‘in agriculture’in that sen-
