摘要
英国乡村庄园作为一个原型,对英国乃至欧洲许多地区的建筑设计演变产生了影响,这些住宅采取了多种多样的设计手法去表现有教养的及文明的生活方式,并且提供了一种礼仪和舒适的标准。本文关注英国早期乡村庄园建筑的演变,从它的中世纪根源一直到画意风格运动的早期开端,尤其是伊丽莎白时期。研究选择从14世纪中期到18世纪早期的庄园建筑,关注其空间组织、建构元素以及材料运用,揭示对称和比例均衡是怎么样明确建筑形式设计的,日常使用功能与礼制仪式之间的关系如何指导空间的生成,对于现代主义的技术性和功能性原则具有挑战意义。
The English country house as a model came to influence the evolution of architectural design not just in the United Kingdom but in many parts of Europe,as their various designs sought to represent a cultured and civilized life-style and provide a level of decorum and comfort.This paper focus upon the evolution of the English Country House from its medieval roots through to the early beginnings of the Picturesque movement.The Elizabethan period is of particular interest.Exploring the lineage of selected houses from the mid 14th to the early 18th century will reveal how symmetry and proportion came to define architectural form-making,and how the relationship between use and ritual directed the making of rooms in a way which may provocatively challenge the technical and functional tenets of Modernism.
