摘要
75岁高龄的作家菲利普·罗斯在其小说《退场的鬼魂》中,借主人公祖克曼的经历对生命进行了深刻的思考,从人类对疾病、衰老、死亡的焦虑,人类在心灵与欲望间的挣扎及对现代物化人生的质疑3个方面入手,指出心灵的宁静自由对短暂人生的巨大意义,追逐欲望及物化的人生会让人陷入争斗、疯狂和异化。
In Exit Ghost,the 75-year-old author Phillip Rose ponders over the significance of life through the experiences of the hero Zukerman in New York.Elaborating people’s anxiety about illness,ag-ing and death,describing people’s struggle between mind and desire and questioning the materialization of people’s life,Rose points out that a peaceful and free mind carries great meaning for people’s short life, while the pursuit of desire and materialization entraps people into fight,madness and alienation.
