This paper first analyzes two relations confronting translators in translation: the intertextual relation and the interpersonal relation. It points out that translators should seek truth in handling texts and that the 'skopos' in the skopostheory may mislead translators to violate this principle. By adopting 'the value of trust' put forward by Chesterman, the author further emphasizes translators' pursuit of trust in interpersonal relation. The author indicates that translators should be more accountable for target readers and original senders and strive to maintain their trust toward translators and the translation industry.
