设计史是工业革命后围绕机器化生产进行的“有目的的活动”，从孕育到繁荣经历了漫长的过程，它是满足人类需求的历史。在不同时期人类需求有其自己的表现，生产力发展、新材料新技术运用、社会主流观念等因素都会导致人类需求发生改变。

Design history is the production of the industrial revolution around the machine performed"purposeful activity", from conception to prosperity through a long process, and it meets the needs of human history.
