Abstract The present paper discusses (1) some of Leech's pragmatic principles and(2)Levinson's theory of anaphora.Both can be accounted for in a relational model based on stratificational theory,within which the realization of both the pragmatic principles and various concepts related to pronouns and reciprocal pronouns can be treated. Also discussed in the paper are the semiotactic conditions for various pronoun realizations.
