Negative Forms and Contextual Factors Regulating the Degree of Negation

本文以普通话的三个词为基点,联系武汉话和海南黄流话,对"否定"问题作些考察。武汉是笔者工作、生活了41年的地方;海甫省乐东县黄流乡是笔者的出生地,笔者离开黄流外出读书时是17岁。海南黄流话,属海南闽方言的琼南小片。为了说明问题,本文还稍微涉及其它一些方言。

Based on negative words in standard modern Chinese and the dialects spoken in Wuhan of Hubei and Huangliu of Hainan, this paper addresses two issues of 'negation'-the difference in form between standard modern Chinese and the above-mentioned dialects and the common contextual factors regulating the degree of negation. The former, is a grammatical issue and the latter a pragmatic one.
