摘要
There was an animated discussion on the cross-cultural studies in the field of teaching Chinese as a second language in the 1980s. Few people, if any, have ever thought about the approaches taken in that period to the study of cross culture. This paper, therefore, attempts to make a brief survey of these approaches, and, at the same time, opens up a new dimension of cross-cultural studies-the learner's system of interculture behavior. It also investigates the psychological processes involved in acquiring a second culture.
