Stock markets are rapidly developing in Africa, with 20 African countries having already set. up stock exchanges now.The largest is the Johanesburg Securities Exchange in South Africa, while the other influential ones include Casablanca Stock Exchange, Zimbabwe Stock Exchange, Ghana Stock Exchange and Nairobe Stock Exchange. The total capital of the stock markets in the 20 countries has reached $256 billion, out of which South Africa, being the champion, accouuts for $240 billion, the four North African countries for about $7 billion, and the rest Sub-Saharan countries for about $9 billion. The stock prices in various countries were universally on rise in 1994, and international investors with long-term strategic vision have regarded favourably at the capit-al market in Africa. If stock markets can develop smoothly in Africa, it will surely push forward the African economy on to the road of healthy development.
