AbstractIn line with the development of national economy, the Middle-East Economic Free Zones have developed in three stages: initiation, flourishing and prospering.They are largely of the commerce-trade or industry-trade types,with the latter enjoying dominance;there are also some individual zones which serve multi-purposes. They have played an important role in prompting the development and prosperity of the Middle East economy. In particular, they are markedly effective in expansion of trade, attraction of foreign investment,development of industry, increase of employment as well as bringing about progress as a whole; they have also shown a tendency of development that unites the industry-trade, science-technology and monatary-finance into one unit and constantly explores new realm of operation and spheres of business.
