The Verification of the Author of Wenzi

由于缺乏确切的历史记载,谁是《文子》的作者成为一个难解之谜,可是它恰恰是我们了解该书的时代及其在中国思想史上价值和地位的重要问题。作者探讨了《文子》自身的信息,如战国后期的时代语言、文物制度等,以及它与《庄子》的关系问题,认为它成书于《庄子》之后,作者是著名的战国四公子之一的孟尝君田文。田文在《战国策》、《韩非子》等书籍中确实被称为文子。

For the inadequate historical record,the author of Wenzi was still unidentified. The author and the publication time of Wenzi are vital to understand its value and position in the history of Chinese thought. The paper analyses some information in the book,such as the language of that time,the historical relics,and its relationship with Zhuangzi. Accordingly,the paper holds that the book Wenzi was written after Zhuangzi,and the author was Tian Wen,namely,Wenzi at that time. Tian Wen's feudal name was Meng Chang,one of the four feudal princes in the warring states.
