摘要
1995年2月本人有幸参加了在印度新德里召开的亚洲开放大学协会（Asian Association ofOpen Universities）第八届年会。会议期间我们与印度开放大学的代表进行了广泛的接触和交流,了解了很多他们办学的情况。同时,我们专程参观考察了印度英迪拉·甘地国立开放大学（In-dira Gandhi National Open University）（IGNOU）。现根据本人了解的情况和有关资料,结合我国广播电视大学的现况,对英迪拉·甘地国立开放大学若干办学形式作些介绍。
Based on an on-the-spot investigation of Indian Open Universities and related literature, this paper advances the following enlightenment for the reference of Chinese open education development:(1) Open admission, to cater to social needs; (2) Diversified certificates, need-oriented teaching; (3) Interactive mode of instruction;(4) Computer networking, advance in management and (5) Cooperation between educational institutions, credit transfer and mutual recognition.
