再论聚合句

Fused sentences revisited

本文是对“聚合句”的进一步审视。聚合句分为(一)“含关系从句的聚合句”;和(二)“疑问词问句聚合句”两类。凡聚合句均含一“超插入结构”,这是同“非聚合句”和它所含的“插入成分”迥然不同的。本文在对比“聚与非聚”和各自不同的结构中,在句法层、音位/字位层、语义层上,展开对上述两类聚合句的讨论。

The paper discusses, on the syntactic, phonological, logical, graphological, and semantic levels, a type of sentence which the author has named 'fused sentences', which are subclassified into (1) 'fused sentences: containing a relative clause';and (2)'fused sentences; wh-questions',as exemplified respectively in (l)He refused to deal with someone he thought was a fool) and (2) When do you think they'll be here! All fused sentences, the author contends, contain 'superparentheses', as distinct from 'parentheses' found in 'nonfused sentences'.
