郭沫若是中国新诗第一个伟大的综合者,对新诗的开拓和发展作出了划时代的贡献:把中国新诗从“摹仿自然”阶段推向“表现自我”阶段,并借助泛神论加强了新诗“表现自我”和反封建力度;使“二十世纪的动的和反抗的精神”,成为新诗艺术的精魂和生命线及郭诗超出同代诗人成就的所在;郭诗的活跃丰富、大胆奇特的想象,提高了新诗的素质,其浪漫主义的主色调和象征的精义,扩大了诗歌的精神内涵,进而创造了“女神体”的新诗体式。
During the age of ' 5. 4', Guo mo Ruo realized theoretically and practically the great synthesis of the Chinese new poems, with his poems which peaked not only in the expression of the spirit of the age but also in the creation of new forms. He made the Chinese new poems well - founded through absorbing and recombinating the creative metholds and artistic styles of the national and foreign poems.
