What's presented here is a report on the excavation of the Longshan,Erlitou and Erligang remains at Dahecun in 1983-1987. The Longshan remains breaks into an early,a middle and a late period.Of the early one are found 23 ash pits,20 tombs including 19 vertical earthen shaft ones and one urn for children, along with large amounts of pottery, stone and bone objects. The middle period remains includes one ash pit,5 tombs and relatively few objects.16 ash pits, one tomb and quite a few pottery, stone, bone and shell objects are uncovered from the layer of the late period. The Erlitou layer here yields one ash pit(H219) along with many pottery, stone and bone objects. The Shang dynasty Erligang layer yields 10 ash pits and many pottery, stone, bone and shell objects. Special mention should be made of two things.Number one,the Longshan-to-Shang development at Dahecun becomes a continuous process with the discovery of the Erlitou remains (H219) here for the first time.Number two,the well-stratified middle and late Longshan remains provides the Lougshau sequence here at Dahecun with missing links.
