建立珠江三角洲经济区是广东省跨世纪的伟大工程，深圳大学在珠江三角洲教育发展战略中具有重要的地位和作用。１１年来，深圳大学在改革和发展中不断探索，取得了引人注目的成绩。为了更好地发挥其作用，有必要把深圳大学的发展放在珠江三角洲、全省以至全国高教改革和发展的大背景中来考虑，赋予深圳大学超前改革的任务和权利。

The building of the pearl River Delta Economic Region spells a trans-century great project for Guangdong. Shenzhen University shall play an important role in the strategy of educational development for the Delta. In the past 11 years, SZU has been exploring for reform and development and has achieved extraordinary results. In order to bring into better play the role of SZU,it is necessary to take into consideration the macro -development of educational cause in the Delta, the whole province of Guangdong and the whole nation when assigning SZU the task and rights for advance reform.
