AbstractJapan’s aggressive strategies against China were an integral part of its aiming at world hege-mony. As early as 1932,the strategies for attacking China and making China Japan’s colony wereworked out,which were to concentrate overwhelming forces to gain the initiative by strikingfirst,to make blitz attacks to win the war as soon as possible and occupy strategic positions toforce the Chinese government to surrender. The strategic principles had different features in dif-ferent phases of the war:nibbling invasion was carried on from 1931 to 1937;all out military at-tacks were made in an attempt to destroy China at one strike after the Lugouqiao Incident.
