Abstract Peace and development have become the tide of the day since the Second World War.Whether adjusted to this trend or not,the Soviet Union’s foreign policy forthe war period hasproved to be correct.It not only compromised and cooperated with USA and UK in military as-pect,but also in the postwar world arrangement.The international status of the Soviet Union hasthus risen apparently. At the end of war,the Soviet Union had refused to make a concession tothe West countries regarding Poland and other issues. It had exaggerated the ideological antago-nistic relation and again given priority to the issues of revolution and war in the making of its for-eign policy.Since then the Soviet Union’s foreign policy deviated from the trend of the time.Thotigh a winner of the arms race,it was defeated in the development of the day.
