AbstractIn the 1820s,with the economic development and the class ploarization in the IndustriaI Rev-olution,the British bourgeoisie required the government to expand their world market,and withthe economic growth and the military enhancement,Britain could triumph over the opponents inthe diplomatic struggle. Canning’s foreign policy in the Latin America catered to the needs of the botirgeoisie. He re-lied on the strength of economy and navy,took advantage of the movement for the independenceof Latin America,flaunted the banner of the ″ non-intervention″,prevented Neo-Holy Al-liance from intervening the independence of Latin America,squeezed the American influence outfrom the Latin America,monoplized the trade to Brazil,finally obtained the greatest commercialbenefit in the Latin America for the British bourgeoisie and established an″informal empire″forBritain.
