A general presentation is made in this paper to illustrate the three phases of HAZOP Study in petrochemical engineering design.Common causes of deviations and various guide words used in HAZOP Study are also discussed.Furthermore,the author discusses five different modes to carry out and close the suggestions given by HAZOP report.Some examples are also included to illustrate the response report for HAZOP action.
