Discussion on the Complex between Chinese Classic Literature and Water

中国古典文学与水有着密不可分的关系。水在中国古典文学中首先是通过古代神话传说以反面形象出现的,衬托出了先祖运用智慧与力量治水的英雄气概。而在漫长的封建社会里,随着人们认识与改造水的能力的不断提高,水在诗文创作中则以正面形象加以表现,仍然是人们审美感受的主要载体。水,是文学创作的源泉之一。

Water is inseparable with the Chinese classic literatures.It first appeared in ancient myths and legends as a negative image to set off the heroic spirits of predecessors who controlled floods by using their wisdom and power.In the long feudal society,as human’s knowledge and capability of harnessing water increased,water was still a major carrier of human aesthetic feelings and became a positive image in poetry and novel creations.Therefore,water is another source of literary creation.
