Reflections on Generation-Skipping Education of Only-child in Urban Areas

随着城市第一代独生子女婚育期的到来,隔代教育现象变得越来越普遍。对沈阳市独生子女家庭隔代教育现状调查结果显示,这种在特殊背景下产生的家庭教育有其独特性,既有优势,也有不足。可以从创造良好的社会环境、对祖辈家长进行再教育、增强年轻父母的责任感、增进祖辈家长与父辈家长的沟通等几方面入手,提高城市独生子女家庭隔代教育的质量。

With the first-generation only-child starting a family,generation-skipping education(children being raised and educated by grandparents instead of parents) becomes increasingly common.A survey on generation-skipping situation of onechild families in Shenyang City shows that this family education mode produced under special background has its advantages as well as disadvantages.The authors suggest that efforts should be made to advance the quality of generation-skipping education from the aspects of creating better social environment,reeducating the grandparents,enhancing young parents’ sense of responsibility and increasing communication of parents and grandparents.
