Hemp,the type of plant that would turn people pale when mentioned, actually became the main raw material for high-end clothes and home textile products.On March 27,Youngor Group,China National Textile and Apparel Council(CNTC)along with PLA General Logistic Department China-Hemp Research Institute held a news conference at CHIC2009,releasing the details on hemp research and development and its industrial advancement. In April 2007,China-Hemp Industrial Investment Holdings Co.,Ltd.was established through co-investment of RMB200 million by Youngor and Ningbo YAK Technology Industrial Co, Ltd.Currently,the company boasts the annual production of 5,000 tons of bast fibers and 2,000 tons of china-hemp fibers every year. A unique industry chain involving the planting,fiber processing, yarning,product origination and designs,product manufacturing and sales is now taking shape in China.
